Its a gloomy drizzly day here in NYC but Bergdorfs windows that are outfitted in Jason Hackenworth balloon sculptures made my walk to get lunch down the street a little brighter!

Escape to Palm Springs

Kaufman House by Slims Aarons via Photographers Gallery

I’ve been dreaming about taking a vacation the last couple of weeks and one place that is high on my list is Palm Springs. I wish I would have thought about this sooner because this week is actually Modernism Week.  A nine day celebration of mid-century modern design, architecture and culture. According to the website the week will be filled with a variety of events including architecture tours, films, lectures, an architecture symposium, educational events as well as chic and fun parties in cool mid-century modern homes. Sounds perfect right? If I had the time, money and a friend to join me on a spontaneous adventure I would book a trip for the weekend asap!  A girl can dream? Palm Springs we will meet soon!

Color of the Day: Raspeberry Red

I love all colors but for some reason seldom find myself using red.  Even if you look in my closet there seems to be a lack of it. I have a few red accents in my apartment here and there like a bright red teapot in my kitchen and my headboard is a pinky, brick red color mixed with some neutrals. The above color palette though is making me rethink my aversion to red.

The raspberry red headboards against the turquoise walls seems so fresh to me and I love the contrast against the black and white bed linens and well I can never pass up a bold striped rug!

I have some  other posts cooking in my drafts for this week but my application for ICFF has taken precedence along with working during the day and cleaning the apartment for a special visitor who is coming Saturday! Will reveal more later on that last one! 😉

Friday I am in Love

T-Shirt via Urban Outfitters UK

It is Friday, which means a long weekend for me and I hope you too! I thought I would leave you with a list of things that have been inspiring me/on my mind/going on with me before the weekend

India Block Printing -Beautiful video from West Elm

I was reminiscing earlier today about this blog post! Can I relive this again? – This is one of my favorite blog entries and why  I originally started this blog, to document my summer abroad studying textile design in Copenhagen. Thought I’d share for those who have perhaps just started reading.

On my weekend to do list is check out the Brooklyn Winery

I am featured in my High School alumni magazine in the art & design issue highlighting successfull alumni, my father scanned it here

You can buy a makeup bag and packaging that I worked on at a Bloomingdale’s counter near you!

Thinking of throwing a little soiree at my apartment soon and getting inspired by this Mrs. Lilien post (whom I adore!) I think that infusing some simple syrup might be in order!

Happy Weekend! See you on Monday!

Bhldn

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine’s Day! I bought myself some flowers and painted my nails glittery pink and called it a day.  One thing that I was looking very much forward to was the website launch of Bhldn, Anthropologie’s new wedding line that was revealed today. I’m not going to be walking down the aisle anytime soon but I would wear these in a heart beat if I was!

1 Place Vendome / Michele Bonan

I just recently discovered the blog Hotel Chic and I have been drooling over all of the interior photos of hotels that I could only dream of staying in. Here is a quick peak of what you are in for.

1 Place Vendome designed by Michele Bonan is a restaurant on the first floor of Hotel de Vendome, a 29-room boutique hotel which is located in a 1723 mansion. (I die!)

I am loving all of the grey and pink accents.  These are two colors that show up frequently in my upcoming wallpaper collection and I am a huge fan of decorating with.

Crunch Time

Not the most glamorous photo but a quick cell phone photo of what I was doing this weekend. (My slr is currently not working!) I spent the majority of the weekend putting a package together for my manufacturer with all of the color targets for my line of wallpaper! Now that all of that is in my manufacturers hands I wish I could just sit back and wait for strike offs to approve but I have a website re-design to work on, applying for a booth for the furniture fair and designing all of all of my promotional materials not to mention how I am going to sample! I’m sure I’m missing something but basically the fun never stops. Whew! I’m also hoping to get my camera working because I’d love to share with you guys some of my inspiration and process for the patterns that I will be debuting in May.
