TedxBrooklyn

I will be volunteering at TedxBrooklyn this coming Saturday in Brooklyn at my alma mater Pratt Institute.  TedxBrooklyn is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.  If you are not familiar with TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) it is an annual conference that  invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Al Gore, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Isabel Allende and UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. This event will have speakers that will include some of Brooklyn’s most promising innovators, from entrepreneurs to artists, storytellers to scientists.

I am not sure if I will be able to actually see the speakers but it looks like they have a fantastic line up and I hope to at least catch a glimpse. If not at least I will be able to meet and network with an array of interesting people and help out an event that I fully support. The full list of speakers can be seen here. Check back at the beginning of the week to see how it went!

I am also now on Twitter, follow at @KLewisHome
